Hops are brewing ingredients that drive bitterness, aroma, and that snap you taste in fresh beer. Australian Homebrewing carries hop pellets for reliable performance and compact storage, plus strainer bags that keep trub out of valves and siphons. Dose early for firm bitterness, late for citrus or pine, and on the cold side for bright aromatics. Keep packs cold and sealed to hold their punch.

How should I plan hop additions?
Give each stage a job. Use a measured bittering charge near the start of the boil. Stack flavour and aroma in the last 20 minutes. For whirlpool, hold below a rolling boil to protect oils. Dry hop after peak activity, then chill quickly to lock in aroma.

How do I store opened hops?
Press air from the pouch, reseal in an oxygen-barrier bag, and keep it in the freezer. Light, heat, and oxygen dull character fast. Label variety and open date. Use older packs for bittering and save the freshest lots for whirlpool and dry hop work.
