Top Shelf Candy Shots (A) is a 50ml Still Spirits Top Shelf liqueur flavouring. With a Liqueur Base A and 40% ABV neutral spirit or vodka it makes 1.125 litres of finished liqueur. Still Spirits describes it as "Delicious with sweet notes of candy."

What it tastes like

A sweet, confectionery-flavoured shot liqueur, coloured and built to be poured cold from the fridge. It is a party bottle, not a sipping one, and it is popular for exactly that reason.

How to make it

Make up the Liqueur Base A as per the pack, shake this bottle and add it with 650ml of 40% ABV neutral spirit or vodka, then top up to 1.125 litres with water. Still Spirits says to keep the finished liqueur in the fridge. It is ready to pour the same day.

The spirit can be bought vodka or your own neutral spirit off an Air Still Pro or Turbo 500. Because a liqueur is sweet, it is more forgiving of a base spirit than a straight vodka essence is, but a carbon-filtered spirit still gives a cleaner result.

When to choose this one

Choose this for shots and novelty cocktails. If you want a fruit liqueur with more character, any of the schnapps flavours will do more in a mixed drink. Uses Base A with 650ml of spirit and needs refrigerating once made. The full set is on the Top Shelf essences collection.
