Pilsner is the original King of Beers and the Kiwis have taken the famous Bohemian Beer and turned it into a legitimate and very popular internationally recognised beer style of their own.
As New Zealand’s reputation as a respected beer nation rises (largely due to the popularity of their hops), The “New Zealand Pilsner” has risen in prominence and is a unique interpretation of the original Czech made Pilsner.
Our brew true to the style has a medium bodied smooth malt character. Like the original Pils it is not overly bitter, but the hop flavours and aromas are distinctly tropical fruit and citrus, a hallmark of Kiwi grown hops. We use both Nelson Sauvin and Motueka to display punchy citrussy and passionfruit flavours. Best enjoyed when you serve this one cold at around 4 degrees C.
